Department V of the IPMZ

The department V is dedicated to the empirical communication and media research as well as the enhancement of empirical concepts, models and theories concerning media consumption, media selection and media effects.

The scientific work on various research projects of our department staff is shaping and forming the research field, especially in the areas of persuasion, entertainment and online communication research.

Alongside these matters the course offerings particularly involve the procurement of empirical methods. In the course of the syllabus and the supported writing of the thesis the empirical theories of communication science are taught, discussed and put into practice.
