Reports on lethal outcome of familiy conflict can be found regularly in newspapers and television. The crucial question is whether such reports might result in imitative behavior of media users. Theories on the effects of media violence, results of empirical investigations on imitatitive behavior and the amount of media´s coverage of family conflict are used to answer this question.
